Lyle E. Southworth Oxford, NY Lyle E. Southworth (Bob), 79 was ushered into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on November 2, 2010 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford, NY. Bob was born in Little Marsh, PA on September 9, 1931. He was the son of the late Walter and Mildred (Short) Southworth. He graduated from Charleston High School, Wellsboro, PA in 1950. Bob served 8 years in the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Sears and Roebuck Co. for 18 years before entering Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, PA graduating in 1980. He served as Pastor and Minister of the Gospel in 3 Pennsylvania churches, Cadis, Spartanburg and Wellsboro. He is survived by: Wife of 60 years, the former Janice Wilson of Millerton, PA Daughters, Carol (Gary) Cipriano, Wanda (Titus) Leffel, Karen (Tom) Shelton Sons - Kenneth (Kathy) and James (Kim) Twin sister Lila (Edward) Johnson Sisters - Betty (Gene) Hockemeyer, Norma (Ralph) Rossman Fourteen Grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Bob is also predeceased by brothers Jim, Harold and Douglas sisters Rena and Virginia and a daughter, Gayle Southworth. Friends may call Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Sidney 28 River St. in Sidney, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM His son Kenneth Southworth, Teaching Elder of the Church will conduct the service. Burial with military honors will be Monday, November 8, at 11:00 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
