I remember I surprised David on his birthday by taking him to Watkins Glen race track. I tried to convince him to take the Crossfire but he had no idea where we were going so we took the MiniCooper. When we arrived he kept telling them he didn't want to do any laps. I got out of the car, said yes he does and paid them. He loved it! The next year we went back in the Crossfire. He was not an easy person to surprise.
I will never forget our trip to Alaska with so many memories.
David will always hold a special place in my heart.
Sincerely,
Betty

My condolences to you all. Dave was always referred to as "cousin" Dave. His visits to the shop were always welcomed! Many memories of him and Pops sharing stories and BS'ing. Sincerely, Lance DeForest

Many memories going through my head the last few days. Thoughts that I wish we all could slow down in life and think about more, not just when something like this happens. Just the little things like nights at the bowling alley with Shawn and I, Saturday night pizza & WCW wrestling, splitting firewood for a Gram & Gramp and the Sunday morning Easter basket deliveries after you became a Grandpa. Still remember the excitement on your face when you got back from Alaska and stopped by to share the photos…..your really loved to explore and see new things.
No doubt you’ve already found new adventures up above with some old friends, mostly mischievous I’m sure! Rest easy Dad.

So long old friend / neighbor. We had some really great times. I can still remember us bringing my new dirt bike home on your trailer, stopping at the Main Street light in Sidney and wondering what the crash noise was until we looked back to see it fell off. After that Dave's favorite saying was "Don't worry, it's fully insured until it falls off the trailer"! Enjoyed all the years you helped with different projects and thanks again for letting me ride your street bike the entire summer while you were down with a broken leg. Good ole days.
So long old friend till we meet again!

I’ll miss ya dad. We all will.
So happy we got to spend time together racing down snowmobile trails both here and tug hill. You loved the snow and crisp air of winter more than most, and finding that freshly groomed trail was like hitting the jackpot.
Wish I had gotten into the motorcycle thing and joined you on your many rides.
Not sure whose TV I’m going to repeatedly fix now - you were definitely the best at hitting the wrong buttons!
I’ll meet you on the trails in the sky someday.

I was saddened to hear about Dave. He has been a life time friend of Jim and myself. He was our best man in 1966. May he rest in peace with all his buddies.
