Obituary of Dawn Marie Palmatier

"And though she be but little she is fierce" - Shakespeare Dawn Marie Palmatier of Sidney, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Cooperstown at the age of 74. Dawn was born May 7, 1948 in Oneonta, NY daughter of Peleg and Teresa (Carpentier) Hess. She went to high school at Sidney Central School and graduated in 1967. She retired from Amphenol after working as an inspector for many years. She was union seward and also served as a grievance committee member. Dawn is survived by her husband, Carlton "Fred" of Sidney, NY; her daughter, Melissa Schoeck of Mt. Upton, NY; her step children: Michael (Selena) Palmatier of Kingfield, ME, Michelle DeMeo of Oneonta, NY, and Renae (Jason) Ruff of Oxford, NY; her uncle Butch (Pat) Carpentier of Scotia, NY; her siblings: Leon (Loretta) Hess of Schenectady, NY, Peleg (Jan) Hess of Clarksville OH, Suzan (Steve) Booth of Osteen, FL, and David (Lori) Hess of Norwich, NY; her grandchildren: Tyler Palmatier, Trevor Palmatier, Jessica Schoeck, Justin Schoeck, Tanner Palmatier, Troy Palmatier, Jacob Ruff, Jadyn Ruff, Mark DeMeo, Kane DeMeo, Joslynn Irons, Desirae (Alex) Irons; great-granddaughters Cora and Cleo; many nieces and nephews and last, but not least her faithful dog Fergie. She was preceded in death by her parents Peleg and Teresa (Carpentier) Hess. Donations can be made in memory of Dawn to the Delaware Valley Humane Society. Calling hours will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1-3 pm with a memorial service beginning at 3:00.
