Obituary of Marilyn Mable Howland

Marilyn M. Howland Oneonta, NY Marilyn Mable Howland, 73 of Oneonta, and formerly of Rockdale, went to be with the love of her life at the Lord's Table on Friday, September 24, 2010 at her home. Marilyn was born on January 14, 1937, daughter of the late Clifford and Anna (Attendorn) Russell in Rotterdam, NY. On March 10, 1957, she married Harry "Pat" Howland in Morris. He predeceased her on January 9, 1994. Marilyn worked as a machine operator at Mead in Sidney from 1970 until her retirement in 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and her children, grandchildren and her great grandchild were her pride and joy. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and taking care of her home and her family. She loved to gamble; scratch off tickets were her favorite. Marilyn was always supportive of anyone in need, always striving to lead by example. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Marilyn is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law: Raymond J. and Patricia J. Howland Morris Daughter and son-in-law: Loretta A. and George T. Holdredge Oneonta Grandchildren: Benjamin J. and Jessica Howland and their son, Aiden of Brookfield, Philip T. Holdredge of Washington, DC, and Alexander and Logan Howland of Morris 3 Siblings: sister, Carole Bishop of Gloversville, brother and sister-in-law, Clark and Edna Russell of Schenectady, and sister, Gail Mayville of California. Sister-in-law, Madeline Slade of Rockdale As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Marilyn was predeceased by a grandson, Jeremiah, and her brother Clifford. Friends are invited to call from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the funeral chapel with Rev. Rick Stackhouse, pastor of Mt. Vision United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton.
