Obituary of Stephen R. Petzold

Stephen Petzold, born September 8, 1963, passed away June 29, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother Lucille Petzold; brother David Petzold; grandparents, Miriam VanSteenburg, Russell VanSteenburg (Mina VanSteenburg). He is survived by his cherished dog, Nikki; father, Milt Petzold (Linda Petzold); sisters, Teresa Sparks (Steven Sparks), Sharon Bell (Frank Bell), Karen Jerman, and Sheryl Hopkins (Eric Hopkins); and good friends Diane, Dale, Roni, and Dave. Steve was a hard worker and a loyal friend. He would help anyone in need. He pulled himself up and reinvented himself a few times after life knocked him down. He was proud to have a steady job, his own home, a truck, and his own fast sporty car. He was frugal and paid his bills on time. He felt that was the measuring stick of a good life. Unfortunately, on May 3, 2022 he found out he was "full" of cancer. As shocking as the diagnosis was; he didn't and doesn't want tears or pity. He had a good life and overcame much. He knew God was taking him to Heaven, though he hadn't expected it to be so soon. He left this Earth in his own home and on his own terms. Life can change in the blink of an eye, so don't take any of it for granted. God speed Brother. Say hello to Mom and David.
