Obituary of Eleanor M. Snow
Eleanor "Ellie" Mae Snow passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022 in Norwich, NY at the Valley View Manor. She was born May 31, 1941 at home in Bainbridge, NY, daughter of Bernard Albert and Margaret Elizabeth (Horvath) Manderville.
Eleanor married Monte G. Snow on February 27, 1960 in Sidney, NY.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry (companion Marie) and Andrew (Judy); sister-in-law, Evelyn Manderville; grandchildren: Amanda (Mike), Cassandra (Brittany), Jason, Rebecca (David), Sharlynn (Grace) and Courtney; great-grandchildren: Thomas, Abigail, Emily, Katherine, Wyatt, Ethan, Cove and Macon; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Robert, Betty, Linda, Rocky, William Jr. and Anita.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Margaret, Aunt Lizzy, Husband Monte, Brothers: James, Leo, and Arnold "Bob"; Sisters: Mildred, Delores and Shirley, and very dear friend William Hunt Sr.
Ellie held many jobs during her life; waitressing, cashier, realtor just to name a few. She had many so called hobbies: owning a small farmette with horses, cows, pigs, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. She loved all animals and said they were all God's creatures! She also loved to dabble with poetry, painting, drawing, reading, gardening, singing, flea marketing, performing skits for family and friends, working with wood and baking for her family (especially for her grandkids). She loved to make animal shaped pancakes for them.
Eleanor enjoyed attending cattle auctions, trips to Turning Stone with her sister Millie and brother "Bob", and day trips with family. She loved her family gatherings, especially during any holidays, eating a delicious food and her favorite, pumpkin pie, always looking forward to going back the next day for leftovers!
She will be greatly missed by her family. Per Eleanor's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorial donations in her memory to the Chenango County ASPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
