Mrs. Haller taught myself, my husband and my daughters. She was an excellent teacher...a true example of a dedicated teacher. It was a privelege to have been her student, and then to know her as an adult after that. I send my deepest condolences to Rudy, and the rest of Irma's family. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed.

Irma and I have always kept in touch through the years with Christmas cards and enclosed letters. After our 50th class reunion we began to correspond more frequently reminiscing on growing up together in Sidney. Irma was always a true friend and a good listener and role model. We remembered especially simpler times when we played with paper dolls and cataloged them in the large Sears catalog, playing with Nancy Sue and how we all had Roy Rogers 1 or 2 and on Saturdays we would spend it at the local theatre watching one of the Western movies while eating buttered popcorn together. We loved evenings from shooting baskets over at Doug Porters, playing dress-up with Nancy Sue or just playing Spud with a ball out on the street. We enjoyed tennis together and walking down to the ball field to watch the senior ball games.
To Rudy and especially Edmond and family I'm sure she was always someone to admire. My love goes out to all of your family. I loved her, too. She will live on in all the hearts of the people she touched. My sympathy and love to all of you. She played a positive role in my life. Patti Johnson

In the Legacy version (Bing. Press) I wrote on behalf of the Class of 1976. Here I'd like to light my own candle.
Mrs. Haller - in later years she was still Mrs. Haller - was my friend in adult life and treated me as if I were one of her favorite students. Ironically, I had her only for Homeroom in 9th grade, and as my advisor for the Junior High Maroon and White newspaper.
We once discussed what our M & W would look like with "today's technology". She added that she wished the students who wrote back then could have utilized that technology to create an awesome newspaper. How true.
I would catch up with her at many a teacher's end-of-year banquet. She was a "teacher for life" but I suspect she was more accurately a "teacher of life".
My sympathies to the entire family.

I had Mrs. Haller for Social Studies and Economics during my high school career. She was a great teacher, always patient and understanding, making sure the students understood the material being taught. She was a great lady and will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with the family. RIP Mrs. Haller.

As a former elementary teacher I only had the privilege of working with Irma as part of a conference. We enjoyed sharing our ideas as well as a relaxing trip. I had already known of her expertise as both of my children had had her for a teacher.
She will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences go out to her family.

I graduated from Sidney in 1987 which means I had Mrs. Haller for English 9 in 1983. She has been sending Christmas wishes and personal updates for everyone in that class since then. I'm not sure what made this class different to her but this is what made her different to us. I have many teachers that I fondly remember from my years at Sidney but she is the only one who has communicated with me for the last 27 years! A tear comes to my eye as I write this so please light a candle to her for her years of dedication to the young adults of Sidney. Mrs. Haller will be missed by many.

Irma and I taught together at Sidney from 1989 until I retired in 2001. Altho I was an experienced teacher, I was new to Sidney. Irma made me feel comfortable and at home. I appreciated her kind ways and willingness to help. Tom and I are so very sorry for your loss, Rudy.
Our prayers go out to you and your family.
