Louie and I send our deepest sympathies to Don and Mike and Tim and their families. We and our kids shared so many wonderful memories over the years with Bettye and Don and their kids; like the time we saw a flying saucer on their hill and argued whether we really saw it. Or when we cooked out over a campfire and the potatoes exploded out of their cans. Bettye was a bundle of life and she shared that life with so many others. Even though we haven't seen her in a long time we will miss knowing she's around Of course she still will be...she'll be adding more life too heaven.

Dear Mike, Tim, Don, and the extended Laird Family,
Sabine and I send our deepest condolences and sympathies- Bettye was such a loving and welcoming neighbor to us for the last 15 years, it is really hard to imagine life on our hill without her. I clearly remember the first time I met her, she was riding her mower near our property line and looking at our shin-high grass with a sly grin….our mowing competition started that day and she pretty much whipped me as a standard practice. We hope you can find peace in knowing she lived a wonderful full life, and was so proud of all of you and the lives you’ve built.
Love and Peace,
Sabine & Kevin McMullen

My deepest heartfelt condolences to you all. There are really no words to convey how sorry
for your loss and so many of us feel, I say that because your mom was such a great mom, friend, and a beautiful spirit. I no she touched of so many. Including me. I can't help to smile when I think of her as she was so filled with love, giving , caring for others, that spark we just loved and had the devil in her (Mike you are your mom all over) how upbeat and fun, loving she was and was always there to pick anyone of us us up. I do no every time we spent time together, she always told me ( how much she loved her boys) and that she did forever and ever. Be proud of the difference she made to so many people. I will miss her sparky being. Hey, my friend, you have your wings now, fly high sweet lady. Will always remember you!!

My sincere condolences to the Laird family on the passing of your Mom. I was a bowling friend of hers, and the best word to describe her, would be "character". She was a wonderful person and I will miss her terribly

So sorry to hear of Bettyes passing. My husband Monty (passed in 2019) worked with her at the Oneonta Nursing home for several years. Monty loved to walk in the woods and would bring many different sizes and shapes of tree fungus for Bettye to give to your Dad to etch. I still have and treasure one that she had him etch and she gave to Monty.

If ever there was a person for whom “feisty” is a lofty compliment, Bettye fit that description for sure.
Always self-assured, she was so admired by all who knew her. I’d see Bettye often at Suzi’s following her dedicated Daily Mass attendance as well as at the Elks during activities there. She never disappointed with a quip or comment that left me smiling.
Sympathies to the Laird family. Boys, she was so so proud of you all. Feisty, admired, and proud. That was Bettye.
