Obituary of Joyce C. Ruling

Joyce Constable Ruling, 88 passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1933 to James and Pearl (Abers) Constable. She graduated from Unadilla Central School with the class of 1951. Joyce married Robert L. Ruling on April 25, 1953. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Robert predeceased her on April 2, 2003. She worked as a Traffic Coordinator at Bendix (Amphenol) in Sidney, NY for many years until her retirement in 1986. Joyce was also a lifelong member of the Wells Bridge Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Joyce enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, walking, country music, baking and helping others. She especially enjoyed being with her family and her cat Rascal. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Robin and James Whitbeck (Unadilla), and son and daughter-in-law Robert and Kitty Ruling (Unadilla), grandchildren; Brad Whitbeck (Niki), (Mt. Upton), Rhonda and John Connelly (Maryland), Scott and Arianna Ruling (Long Island), Megan Ruling (Troy), great grandchildren; Ethan and Scarlett Connelly and Blaine Whitbeck. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Fran and Walter Kane. Joyce was also predeceased by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Richard Constable, George and Pauline Ruling, Alfred and Ada Ruling, Christina and Charles Northrop. Also, two half brothers Clarence and Robert Case. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Sand Hill Cemetery Unadilla, NY Memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, P.O.
