I just read of Will's passing in the Dickinson Magazine. We were only acquaintances during our Dickinson days, but he always had a huge smile and warm greeting as we passed on the quad. I'm so sorry for your loss.

While a teacher at Sidney Middle School in the early 2000s, I was asked to be on the hiring team that was interviewing candidates for the Spanish Teacher position. Patricia Branigan, Spanish Teacher at the High School, and Mr. Allen Bilofsky, our Middle School Principal, also were on this team. Enter Will Worsnopp, candidate for the position. Will was prepared, dynamic, engaging and humorous, as he answered questions posed to him by Mrs. Branigan, who conducted the entire interview in Castillian Spanish! Needless to say, Will was offered, and accepted, the position. As a Consultant Special Education Teacher, I attended classes with my students, and was able to witness, along with the students, Mr. Worsnopp's exceptional talent as a teacher, and his very personable approach with all who he encountered, both inside and outside of the classroom. I wish to extend my sympathy to Will's entire family, friends, and students both present as well as past.

Mr. Worsnopp was my favorite teacher I’ve ever had. My friends and I were beyond devastated when we heard what happened. Mr. Worsnopp was adored by all students, parents, and staff. He never failed to make everyone around him smile and only ever had positive things to say in class. Mr. Worsnopp not only taught me Spanish, but how to be a good person too. His class held many memories that I will cherish forever. Rest in peace ❤️

Mr. Worsnopp was a fun-loving, caring, and kind teacher. There is no doubt that he cared about all of his students. He always had a smile on his face and made all of us feel welcome in his classroom. I will never forget not only what he taught me about Spanish but the lasting impact of positivity he left in all of us. Sending prayers to his family and friends.

It was a pleasure to get to know Will socially as well as his being my kids’ middle school Spanish teacher. My favorite memory was actually during a winter break that brought lots of snow. Will quietly went to the school and sculpted a great lion in the large snow pile plowed into a corner. That was so the kids saw it upon their return on Monday.
Always smiling and upbeat, Will made everyone feel better just by his natural charm. He and Emily were soul mates for sure. Sincere condolences to Emily and all family members. Seeing all the comments from former students and colleagues says it all. He will be missed….

We were very saddened by this news of William's passing. Doubly so, because we have been through this battle with gioblastoma with my sister, also a former teacher. This path they take teaches us all a little more about grace and how to show love, and making each day count. The community has lost a very special person in the death of William. Please know many are thinking of the whole family during this very difficult time and send condolences to all.

Will was the best! As a colleague, sharing a home room in the Middle School to our Friday seminars downtown, he was fun and positive. My greatest memory is the night a group of use decided to check out the Hideaway on Division St. A first for all and boy was it interesting!!!
Emily, I offer you my love and condolences. I’m glad you were able to take time to spend it with your love. Keep the memories of your very adventurous life together close to your heart.
Rest peacefully my friend.

Emily and family,
I met Will at Sidney CSD. He was such a wonderful person. He always had a smile on his face and would help you with anything you needed. I also took Body Pump classes from him and Emily. They were both great motivators. I pray you will find comfort in the memories you've made together. God Bless.

Will was such an amazing teacher and neighbor. One of my best memories of him that I had was during one of the floods in Sidney. He was so helpful to my family and it was great to return the favor to him, helping them get stuff out of their basement. Later that night, we had nothing but fun as neighbors. We did some drinking, and went canoeing in our flooded backyards! It was the most random but best experiences. Same night, he also insisted I tried goat cheese on a bagel and man was I not disappointed lol. His art work truly expressed his personality and you can tell he put so much time and effort into each piece. Nothing short of astonishing. But most of all, I know he was the best husband and friend to Emily. You can tell they always had a never ending love for each other. Will is going to be sorely missed but never forgotten

Emily,
I feel honored to have worked with Will at Vestal. He provided his students with instruction on how to live their lives in a positive manner as well as Spanish. I never saw Will without a smile on his face and I never heard him speak negatively about anyone. Simply - he was a great teacher! I am glad our paths crossed and know that he left a positive impact on his students. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

To Emily and the rest of Will’s family:
Will was a colleague of mine at Sidney. Even though we did not have daily contact being in different buildings, when I did see him chaperoning or at a meeting or sporting event, he always greeted me with a smile and warm hello. He had a kind soul which will live on forever. I wish you all strength in the coming years.
Sincerely, Loraine Flyzik

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MR WORSNOPP WITH A BRIGHT SMILE ON HIS FACE. HE WAS A KIND AND GENTLE MAN, WHO NEVER JUDGED ANYONE, BUT ACCEPTED EVERYONE. HE WAS A WONDERFUL TEACHER, AND THAT IS WHY HIS STUDENTS LOVED HIM. WHEN I SAW HIM AROUND TOWN HE ALWAYS HAD A KIND WORD. WHAT A WONDERFUL LEGACY TO HAVE. REST NOW, AND BE WITH THE ANGELS.

Dear Emily and family. May you find comfort in those of us who were privileged to have known Will. I was lucky enough to be in a classroom where Will taught not only Spanish but patience, and tolerance to all of us. He never had to yell or raise his voice.. Each student felt at ease and was never ostracized or ridiculed. I am very fortunate that I had a year learning from .Will. He always presented the material like it was the first time. No one lost interest in his class. Everyday was met with a smile and happy greeting. I’m a better person for knowing you Will. You’re an angel now. May your memory be eternal mi amigo.
