I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Karen, Jim’s children, grandchildren, family members, classmates, and other friends on his passing. The greatest compliment I can give Jim is to say he was a good man. He had so many great qualities and life lessons to offer. My favorite memory of Jim is from our senior year in high school.
I remember walking out of locker room or gym and seeing Jimmy down hall with a banana in his hand and standing at the water fountain. He was not drinking the water but just wetting his whistle. It was one of those days when he was working to make weight for his next match. When he looked up from the water fountain and saw me, he just had one of those classic Jimmy Wilson smiles on his face. I was thinking he was nuts for what he went through for wrestling and as we walked toward one another, I just shook my head a little. As we passed one another, he softly said to me, “it will be alright”.
It was years later when reflecting back on that moment that I finally understood the full meaning. Jimmy was offering me a life lesson that if you love what your doing, the work and effort are not burdens and hardships but joyful tasks to be carried out to the best of our abilities. It is the moment I always think of when I hear his name. His face and his smile were just heaven sent.
Kudos to Jim on a life well lived. With deepest thoughts and prayers for everyone who knew and loved Jim.
Jim DeMuth, Class of ’71

Jim and I shared many pleasant memories while growing up. I watched him grow into a great husband, father and grandfather as the years passed. He was a great athlete and had a fighting spirit that was unmatched. He fought, with dignity as cancer consumed his body. I love and respect my brother deeply and will always remember and cherish the time we had with him.

Rodney - I am so sorry to have missed calling hours. Jim was one of my first sports heroes as he excelled in three sports - cross country, wrestling, and baseball , yet he never bragged and was a terrific teammate. I was glad he was part of two Legacy teams for the Sidney Alumni Sports Hall of Fame. If you want to reach out, email me first at sportsradio32@gmail,com.

Dear Karen, Tracy, Jamie, Janel, and families,
We are so very sorry to learn of Jim's passing. Treasure and share all the stories with each other over these days and weeks. We know you have thousands of memories, and we hope they will help you grieve.
What we will remember about Jim is that quiet, fun, gentle demeanor. He was like that way back in high school. He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was just an all-and-all good guy!
May God wrap his loving arms around each of you, and give you peace.
Love,
Dave and Vicki
