Obituary of Priscilla Ann Gaucher

Priscilla Durand "Memere" Gaucher, 79, of Bainbridge, NY, passed away on July 17th, 2021, in her home. Priscilla was born in Westerly, RI, to the late Gedeon Durand and Lucie Bragard Durand on April 22nd, 1942. She went to highschool at Burrillville High school. She went on to earn a nursing degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Priscilla married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, David W. Gaucher on April 23rd, 1966. She started her nursing career at Rome Developmental Center. She worked at St. Jerome's Hospital in Batavia, NY, from 1978- 1984. For the remainder of her career, she worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, NY. After dedicating 50 years of her life to nursing, she retired in 2013 at the age of 72. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, crafting, playing Words With Friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Priscilla is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deidre L. and Scott Fitzgerald of Bainbridge, NY; Aliscia D. Gaucher and Israel Lorimer of Bainbridge, NY; and a son Dave D. Gaucher and Tammy Poitevient of Fayetteville, GA. Her grandchildren J.D. Boccardo, Nikki Boccardo and Rob Romeo, Leigh Fitzgerald, Merren Loimer, Ian Lorimer, Colin Grandstaff and Aaron (Melissa) Fitzgerald. One brother and sister-in-law Marc and Nina Durand of Georgia; two sisters and brothers-in-law Duane and Johnny Jones of Florida; Phyllis and Mike Phillips of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband David W. Gaucher, and two nephews, Sam Phillips of North Carolina and Marc Durand of Georgia.
