Tom and Cheryl, Christine, Theresa, Jimmy and Lisa, I'm so sorry for your loss. Knowing just one of you is to know all of you. We hear, and immediately run through our minds all we can about our loved ones. In knowing your family I know how you will be there for each other. As little time as it was I remember being around Tommy on the basketball court as I tried to keep up with him those summer runs in the gym, I remember him well. I will continue to send good wishes in my prayers.

John, Cheryl, Lisa, Christine, Theresa, Jimmy and families, words cannot express how heartbroken I was to hear this today. We have so many fond memories of our childhood spent with Tommy. Tom and the whole crew were always my favorite kids to babysit and spend time with! Tom was a great friend to my brother too that he still to this day tells great stories of the things they did back in the day. You are in my thoughts and prayers, love you all. ❤️

When my Mother called to give me the news, a flood of memories just poured into my head --- and there are just too many to count. Tommy was my first true friend. We literally experienced almost everything together from the time we could walk, talk, and run around outside until around middle school. We learned to ride bikes around the same time, we learned how to play baseball in our backyards, we followed the same baseball, football, and basketball teams and idealized many of the same players.
We learned how to use our imagination’s together on Ritton Street and when he moved to James, and my family followed a year or so later to a house right down the street, we really took it to another level. We created our own Major League Baseball season, naming each of our backyards after a major league stadium. We kept track of home runs from spring until fall. We played until someone had to go to dinner, or we couldn’t see the ball anymore. We had a special play for backyard tackle football called “Rice80”, and If you ever asked either of us, it was 100% successful, every-single-time we called it!
It was truly a “Wonder Years” like childhood that we got to experience together, and it is something I have always been so proud of. Whenever the topic of childhood memories comes up in conversation, Tommy is always the first person that comes to my mind, and it’s just a really fun thing to tell people about, because it was so perfect, and there aren’t a lot of people that got to experience being a kid like we did.
The Mirabito’s were like a 2nd home and in many way’s a 2nd family for me, for many years. My condolences go out to the entire family. I am so fortunate and proud to have had the opportunity to have such a great friend!

I served as Tommy’s jv basketball coach at Sidney High School and marveled at times of his enthusiasm for the game and his skill set. I remember him getting hurt early on in his junior year and basketball became an afterthought. Tommy’s smile and likability are cherished thoughts in this “old timer’s” memory bank. To all of the Mirabito family, please accept my condolences. Coach Finnegan

Sometimes the need to measure a person’s value in life is how he loved and was loved by others. Tommy excelled in both aspects.
He earned a coveted (Track coach Doug) Quinney nickname that he handled quite well- Thumbalina. Adventures aplenty, the guy never was bored.
My sincerest condolences to the Mirabito’s and their extended families. One less member of the family circle means one more awaiting you all in Heaven. God Bless.
