Mrs. Dixson was such a lovely person, and always very kind to me. She was a mainstay at Mang Insurance -- very professional, very personable, too. I was a friend of her daughter, Nadine, who passed away sadly when we were in high school. I will miss them both.

In July of 2019 I had the great pleasure of visiting with Betty at the Sidney Methodist Church. Though she was just shy of 93, she was the same Betty that I worked for in the late 70s, with a ready smile, kind word and quick wit. It had been years since I had last seen Betty in person. It seemed time had stood still, she hadn't changed - I would know her anywhere and she knew me. I'm very thankful we had that time to reflect and get caught up.
I greatly admired Betty, she was a great role model. To me, in the late 70s she was a trail blazer working along side the male producers at Mang. She was the liaison between the agents (at the time all male other than Betty) and the all female administrative assistants she supervised and helped train. Not an easy task though Betty did so with such professionalism, energy and grace. What's more, each Christmas season, she would have a luncheon to thank the administrative assistants at her home, serving us the most delicious home made lasagna I have ever had.
I am grateful for having known her, I was fortunate to have such a great mentor. She is now in the arms of the Lord and I'm sure in the company of her loved ones that passed before her.

Betty was such a wonderful lady. I first met her when she was my insurance agent when I got my first car. Always so friendly and no matter how much time went by she always remembered you when she saw you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I just wanted to say what a wonderful lady Betty was. I had the pleasure of working with her for 5 years at Mang Insurance. She taught me as much about the insurance business as anyone that I worked with. For years after meeting and working with her, I constantly ran across her in town and we always talked and shared about what was going on. I'm so glad that I knew her.

I will miss calling Betty’s name as the oldest alumnus participating in the March of Classes during Sidney Alumni Weekend in July. Betty was quite proud of that honor she held after the passing of Ted Elliot.
In fact in 2018, there was a mixup for the start time, causing some, like Betty, to be late. Instead of complaining or missing her coveted “first” spot, Betty grabbed a “Class of 2011” sign and ended the parade. That, to me, was Betty. Always a zest for life.
Many will miss her, no one will forget her. My condolences to the Waldron/Dixson families.
