Obituary of Caroline M. Harrington

Caroline M. Harrington Sidney—Caroline M. Harrington, 97, formerly of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park. She was born on November 17, 1923 in Meridale, NY, daughter of the late Howard and Louise (Thompson) Fullington. She grew up in Meridale with dairy farm roots. In 1941, she was married to Elmer A. Harrington, sharing happy memories of family, cookouts and camping, until he predeceased her in 1976. Caroline was lucky enough to find new love with Bastine "Bucky" Caracciolo, who was her loving companion for many years. Together they enjoyed dancing and music, casino trips, bowling and spending time at the golf course. He predeceased her in 2015. Caroline worked for over 30 years at Amphenol Aerospace until her retirement. She enjoyed volunteering at The Hospital and the Nex-2-New in Sidney where she designed the window displays. She was also a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church and the Women of The Moose Chapter 502. She was a talented cook and was best known for her fresh pies. Above all else, Caroline loved her family and relished time spent with them. She is survived by her two daughters, Louise and James Jackson of Texas and their family, and Aggie and Ray Clapper of Franklin and their family, 3 generations of grandchildren, sister-in-law Frances Fullington as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband, Elmer and partner, Bucky, Caroline was predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-law, Richard Fullington, and Clarence and Biancy Fullington. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on June 6, 2021 at Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
