My condolences to Don’s family, i can’t imagine Amy’s and his families sadness at this time. I have memories of Don’s earlier years (high school). He was a giving fun guy back then, I’m sure his younger days personality carried on throughout his life. I know His brother Dave, I know he will miss his brother greatly. Sending thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

My sympathies are extended to Amy and the family.
I can’t say Don was a close friend....however during the great football run for Sidney leading to the NYS title, I got to see the supportive dad he was. Moreover, when we honored that team with the Alumni Sports HOF Legacy, he was there again just like before. I still owe him a beverage...
Cherish the memories and know Don was a very good man in all respects. He will be missed.

Amy,
Don was one man I could always look up, in more ways than one. I was so shocked to hear of the gentle giants passing.
This will be hard for all of us to accept. Memories of Don in his working life are so many, with so many good times and wonderful laughs. All of us, that had the good fortune to call him friend, knew we had someone that would look out for us. As you know when a bunch of guys, either in Jennison Station or in the field at NYSEG, the stories that were always told made the work easier and enjoyable. I guess I’m trying say he was a fantastic man to work with and well respected.
We all knew how much he loved the boys and extended family. He also anytime he would reference he light of his life, his rock, his mentor and confidant, it showed through...........his love for you.
We will never know the purpose why this happens to some one so young. You and the boys are left to carry on his legacy, his grandchildren will know how him through you.
Amy, I wish for you God’s strength and courage to carry on. As long as we remember, he will always be alive in our hearts and minds. If you need us, your NYSEG family is here for you and the boys.
With our eternal gratitude we were blessed to be able to call you Don.......a good, respected Friend.
Rest In Peace and may God forever keep you.

Don trained me 33 years ago on pumps at Jennison station. One midnight to 8 shift he and Gerry Puffer caught me sleeping! They duck taped me to the chair and then hit the alarms snapping a picture of me waking up
In panic ! He was a great man
