I think Lonnie's the guy with the biggest feet for anyone less than 6 feet tall!
As we honor the 1978-79 basketball team - state champs - this fall with our Legacy Award at the Sidney Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, we will have to have a moment for Lonnie.
The memories always center around laughter and good times...it's what he was all about.

As I was reading all the candles that have been lit. I am not surprised what a great guy Lonnie was. Although I never knew Lonnie personally, I know a great deal about his family. tears were rolling down my face as I continued to read all the comments about Lonnie. I grew up with his Dad, Kermit and just saw him at the "March of Classes" a week ago. It seems like the "Marble" family was possibly the best all around family that Sidney has seen as far as sports go. Lonnie was on the 79 State Championship Baskeball team.
I play golf with Jonathon, and he is following in the "Marble " tradition. Long and straight down the middle..that's Jonathon.
My condolences to the entire Marble family.

Kay,Kermit and Marble family May your memories and those of others comfort you. Donald was always kind. When I came home for the reunion Mom and I were remebering the times spent at your house and mom's time working with Don. Until she retired he still insisted on calling her Mrs. Gill like he had been taught since a kid. It still makes my mom laugh and smile at the memory of what "a nice kid he always remained". As a classmate I will always remember "Lonnie", he was a presence, his feet, his hair the constant smile.

my condolences to the entire marble family. like all others i hold in my heart only the fondest of memories of don. his upbeat and outgoing personality could only be outmatched by his unending happy go lucky attitude. i had the oppurtunity some 32 years ago to witness and play along one of the most competative athletes sidney schools has ever seen. the way don could run over opponents on the football field throw and hit a baseball and clear out an entire lane on the basketball court was amazing.don was a tenacios competetor and refused to loose. his win only attitude propelled our teams to many successes. don was well known for his athletic abillities on the court but what people may have appreciated most was his positive approach and attitude. i will cherish all our treasured memories. don was the best!

We grew up in the same neighborhood and Don was my sister Joyce's best friend. I remember how he planned to be a pro basketball player when he grew up and when they announced his name at the games they were going to say his last name backwards, "Here comes Don Aboolimar!!!". I remember how he could hold a pickle in his mouth all day, he loved his pickles. I remember the time he fell off our porch and dislocated his elbow. I also remember how big his feet were, and I know that those shoes will be hard ones to fill, impossible actually. We love you, Don, and our sincerest condolences to his family.
