Stacey Sullivan

Obituary of Stacey D. Sullivan

Stacey Dawn Sullivan, 41, of Sidney Center, NY, lost her courageous battle with cancer on January 24, 2021, surrounded by her children and family in her home. Stacey was born in Cooperstown, NY to Kathy Sce and Frederick Sullivan III on July 30, 1979. She attended Unatego Jr/Sr High for the majority of her high school years. She then traveled abroad to participate as a foreign exchange student in Denmark. Upon her return she graduated from Oneonta High School. She took pride in being a waitress – for Friendly's and most recently Buffalo Wild Wings– where coworkers quickly became like her second family. Her heart of gold allowed her to touch the lives of anyone she met. She was always willing to help others without questions or ever passing judgment on them. Stacey was truly defined by her strength and her ability to smile in the face of adversity. It was these exact characteristics that allowed her to overcome some of her biggest obstacles along the way and gave her the passion for helping others in the same predicaments. Stacey was a loved mother, sister, gigi, mentor and friend. She valued all of the memories made, especially those created with some of her closest friends - Melissia Koren, Cindy Pennay-Shirer & Adrianne Zupo. Her world revolved most around her 5 children, her precious granddaughter and her niece. It was her children who were her ultimate pride and joy, that truly meant the world to her. She cherished attending any of their extracurricular activities and spending quality time with them, often just being silly. She was always in their corner as their biggest fan. She also shared a special bond with her niece Zoe who she often viewed as her 6th kid. She was the light in her granddaughter, Athena's, eyes – as the best "gigi" around. Stacey is survived by her parents, Kathy Sce and Frederick Sullivan III (Mollie Sullivan); children: Olivia Grace (Chris Chambers), Tyler Grace (Bryn Quackenbush), Bri Taylor, Deon Taylor and Dejah Taylor; Siblings: Christopher Sullivan (Tugce Hirisci), Tiffany Sullivan (Rick Finch), Jaci Shampine, Ryan Sullivan, Gregory Shampine (Gabrielle Ryan), and Frederick Sullivan IV.; Grandaughter: Athena Chambers; Niece: Zoe Sullivan and Nephew: Lincoln Shampine; Grandparents: Frederick Sullivan Jr., Luella Walke, and Jim Sce (Mickey Sce). She also had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Priscilla Sullivan and her two uncles: Kevin Sullivan and David Sce. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Renuyka Iyer from Roswell Cancer Center for her compassionate care during Stacey's journey. Throughout this battle she received an outpouring of support from various community organizations, neighbors and friends. A special heartfelt thanks goes out to our Tri-Town Family, Jasin James (It's My Deli) Amphenol and Debbie & Tino Garufi (Tino's Pizzeria). Family would also like to express an additional thanks to her sister Tiffany, her rock and best friend, for always remaining by her side and for seeing her to the finish line. Memorial donations may be made to Delaware Valley Humane Society, 17420 County Hwy 23 Sidney NY 13838, in honor of their beloved German Shepard, Rocky, who will unfortunately need to be re-homed as a result of her passing.
