Obituary of Howard C. Fiske

Howard C. Fiske, 90 of Bainbridge, NY and formerly of West Stockbridge, MA, passed away on Dec 30, 2020. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on Dec 3, 1930 to Charles and Pearl (LaBombard) Fiske. In April of 1951, he married Florence Shufelt. Together, in a home filled with laughter and music, they raised six children. They remained devoted to one another until Florence passed away in 1991. Howard enjoyed a few different professions throughout his lifetime, but he was most proud of his years serving as a police officer with the Pittsfield Police Department. Besides devotion to family and work, he had many interests. He had a passion for flying, and held a private pilot's license. He was a member the Freemasons and the Shriners for nearly 50 years. In 1993, he married Nancy Metzner, and moved to Upstate NY. He continued to enjoy his passion for flying; he spent many hours, and made many friends, at the Sidney Municipal Airport. He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, his kindness, and most of all, his sense of humor. He is predeceased by his wife, Florence; his sons Howard, Jr. and Raymond (Harriet); and his daughter Marion (Bruce) Reynolds. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons Thomas and Edward (Betty); his daughter Tracy (Gregory) Hillebrand; his brother, James; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends are invited to call from 5:00-6:00pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A memorial service will follow at 6:00pm at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
