Uncle Morrell and Aunt Faith came to visit us in Elmira, NY and we had a picnic in the backyard. We had special submarine sandwiches from a local subshop. Aunt Faith ordered hot peppers on hers. She took a bite of sandwich, chewed, swallowed and immediately grabbed the whole pitcher of water and drank the whole thing. Then she just gasped. We were caught off guard by her actions at first not realizing she had ordered hot peppers.
I loved how her eyes twinkled when she laughed.

I remember family picnics and sometimes after I would go back to my Aunt Faith's and we played outdoor games at their house. One time we were playing swing the statue and Dixie stepped on my hand and hurt it. I remember Aunt Faith calling my mom telling her they were taking me to get my hand checked after they washed some of the dirt off. My mom said don't scrub too hard they are probably bruises. I always played hard as a kid..
