Obituary of Michelle A. MacPherson

Michelle A. MacPherson SIDNEY—Michelle A. MacPherson, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta after an extended illness. Michelle was born on January 22, 1947 in Binghamton, daughter of the late Harvey and Virginia (Starley) Alford. She was a longtime devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sidney, serving on the vestry, as treasurer and singing in the choir. She enjoyed making arts and crafts for the church holiday bazaar every year, as well as singing in the annual Ecumenical Christmas Choir. Michelle was an avid Sidney Football fan and volunteered with the Sidney Booster Club for many years. She enjoyed traveling the countryside with her grandchildren in tow, always taking the scenic route, never the fast route. In her downtime, you could always expect Michelle to be reading a book. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed by: her husband, Nelson "Butch" MacPherson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Carrie-Ann MacPherson of Sidney, Brent and Stephanie MacPherson of Homer, and Greg and Sabreena MacPherson of Guilford; six grandsons: Trevor and Ciara, Brandon, Ty, Cael, Caden and Ian; sister, Marcia Clinton of Colorado; brother, Matt and Wendy Alford of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Alford, Barbara Humphrey, and Marlena MacPherson, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Michelle was predeceased by her brother, Mark Alford. There will be no services at this time.
