Obituary of Richard Laverne Watson

Richard L. Watson Otego, New York Richard L. Watson, 68 formerly of Otego, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, where he was a resident. Richard was born on August 20, 1941, son of the late Robert and Eileen (McDonough) Watson in Cooperstown, NY. Richard was a graduate of Unatego High School. Following high school, Richard enlisted in the US Army, serving in Vietnam from 1964 until 1966. Richard was a longtime electrician, and member of the International Brothers Electrical Workers Local 325 in Binghamton, NY from 1966 until his retirement in 1991. Richard is survived by: 2 daughters: Cinda and Kyle O'Brien of Delanson, NY Stephanie Watson of Greene, NY Granddaughter, Hayley and grandson, Sam In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Rivino. A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm on Friday, June 18, 2010 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name may be directed to the Huntingtons Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10010.
