A truly legendary woman. It was always a tradition during Alumni Weekend at Sidney to invite people to visit Mrs. Weeden following the March of the Classes.
We will make a fitting announcement in her honor this year.

Mrs. Weeden was my 3rd grade teacher back in 64. I remember her as a sweet caring person. She was an asset to the school and the entire area. She will be missed by all. What a wonderful full life she had.

I remember going to Mrs. Weeden home for staff meetings for the education department of our church. I always looked up to her. She was an amazing woman. I know she is resting in peace and probably instructing those in Heaven.

I was so fortunate to have had Helen Weeden as my third grade teacher at the Pleasant Street School; and, was equally fortunate to be able to visit with her for a few minutes each Alumni Weekend for the past couple of years. She was an amazing lady in many ways and will be greatly missed...may she rest in peace.

Dear Esther and Family, Sorry about the death of your mother, Helen. To live to be 107 is fanastic. Imagine the history she saw in the making. She was loved and respected by all and shall be missed by all. She was a great tribute to the town of Sidney.

This is certainly a new (and convenient) way to express condolences, so here goes...
My sister, Barbara Miller, is much better at keeping up with the Sidney happenings than I have been and I thank her for letting me know of the death of our long time next door neighbor. More than 50 years have passed since we lived at 41 River Street, but I still have fond memories of Helen, and her friendly smile and manner. She was always great with us "kids". "Esther and Eddie" lived just a few blocks away, and were just a few years older than my sister and I. Now of course, we all have families of our own, but our memories of growing up will be with us always.
