The Felter girls express their condolences to the Kent family. The Kent family were longtime neighbors of ours for over 45 years and I especially have fond memories of Louise during my high school years when I did a lot of sewing and I could always count on her smiling face in the store sewing department when I was picking out fabric and patterns. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I will always remember Louise Kent. We grew up as her next door neighbor. I'll always remember her out in her back yard picking blueberry's and the gardening she did around her home. I can see her still today coming and going from shopping, in and out of her driveway. Her and her husband gave me my first job, and they were wonderful to work for. God Bless her and her husband and their family. They will not be forgotten in the Town of Sidney, NY.

God brings us together for reasons..Louise taught me to refinish furniture,to hand wallpaper,to make delicious chili from Campbells tomato soup..and how to antique hunt...Those are things that stayed with me for life...May she rest in peace until the time she is once again in the company of all of her family...God Bless and may she stay safe among the Angels...

Louise was like a grandma to me. She was my lake grandma. I loved her very much. She was truly a special lady and inspired me until her last days. I always thought-if Louise will swim in this water then I can swim in it-no matter how cold it is! There aren’t enough words for the wonderful memories I have of her. She will be very much missed.

Gary, Pam and your family~
Prayers to you all in this sad time. When I think of Louise, I remember the kindness in her face. We were all so lucky to have been included in her community activities, opening Kent's store to us for decades, and raising a family she was so proud of. You are blessed to have had her in your lives.

Loss of a great lady and friend. Mary Jane and I share many happy memories with Louise at the bridge table and visits with her at her home and camp. She and Bill were icons of the village for so many years and offered much to our quality of life. Our hearts go out to the family as you adjust to this enormous loss. David and Mary Jane Plummer

My condolences to the Kent family. I remember her well and her husband. Always could find what you wanted at Kent's and the workers were so pleasant. Best of the best was waiting for the Christmas Season and being allowed downstairs to enjoy the sights. The Kent family warmed so many hearts. Rest in peace Louise with your husband and Billy. Great family you raised.

Louise and Bill Kent were great friends of my family along with several other families from Sidney. Weekends at Guilford Lake were always a great time and a joy to be there. I had some great phone conversations over the years with her up until recently when I was not able to reach her! She will be missed, but my memories of her and her family will linger on. Rest in Peace

True sadness casts a shadow over Main St. Sidney with the news of Mrs. Kent’s passing. Kent’s was a centerpiece of small town commerce with a literal “Mom & Pop store” certainly a fitting description. It was a pleasant surprise to re-connect a few years ago during a New Years Day gathering at a home on Guilford Lake. My condolences to the Kent family as Louise was a grand lady and will surely be missed.

Gary, I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's death. She was always so friendly whether it was when I was a kid going through the toys at the store (or buying one of the tiny turtles!) or later when I would walk by her home. She would always have a smile and hello. My thoughts are with you and your family.
