Kay, Mark, Tom & all the rest of Dave's family,
I'm very sad to hear of Dave's passing, though I'm glad I was able to catch up with him several times last summer after being away from the area for many years. Dave's obituary did a great job capturing what a dedicated family man, farmer, neighbor and friend he was to many. I always enjoyed talking with Dave, even if he did get in a few more words than I :) He was a true gentleman and good person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend in need, regardless of how busy he was. We shall miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Most everyone has a favorite uncle and Uncle David was mine. The farm was my favorite place to visit as a child and that was largely due to the warmth of the reception I always received. Uncle David took me for tractor rides, let me "help" with chores, but most importantly listened to me like I had something valuable to say. I will miss Uncle David very much and to everyone on the farm, I offer my deepest condolences.
Love,
Lisa Howlett

To the whole extended Ives Family-We consider it an honor to be called neighbors by your family and Dave was one of the first who stopped by with a dozen ears of corn and welcomed us into the Yaleville community. Several times he would stop the tractor if the guys were around to sit and discuss the events of the day-Then years later, little ones appeared with him in the cab as he took them on his route. He always had a friendly greeting and wave. Paul always considered him an example of how to lead your life, working hard, and he always encouraged us in our business.
We know, having lost our own dads, how much sorrow you are feeling at this time. It is a hole that can never be filled. Please know there are many others thinking about you. May your many memories and shared stores bring you some comfort, and know he is telling new stories where he is now.
Our love to you all
Paul and Caroline DiNoto-Laing

Love you Uncle David. So many wonderful memories of spending vacations on your farm with family. You Aunt Kay represent what hard work and dedication are. Your strong will and love of family gatherings is what I will remember. Aunt Kay, Mark and Tom, I am so sorry for your loss. May it give all of you peace that he is no longer suffering. Love to all of you and your family.
