Obituary of Kathleen M. Cannon

Kathleen Mary Cannon Unadilla, New York Kathleen Mary Cannon passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born on August 16, 1938 in Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh, Ireland. She moved to New York as a teenager. It was in the Bronx that she met her beloved husband of over 50 years, Patrick J. Cannon. Together, they raised three children: John P. Cannon, M. Mary Cannon and Anne K. Cannon-Tolento. After retiring from her job as a legal secretary in New York City, Kathleen and Patrick moved to Unadilla. It was there that she rekindled her love of nature, watching the birds enjoy the seeds she put out for them daily, and spending many hours in her garden. Her beloved dog, PeeWee, was usually by her side. Kathleen and Patrick enjoyed spending time at their home near Tampa, Florida, but her heart was in the hills of Unadilla. She was so happy to make it back to New York, a wish her loving husband made come true. In addition to her husband and children, Kathleen is survived by three cherished grandchildren: Olivia C. Hann, Jessica L. Hann and Michael P. Tolento. Kathleen will be deeply missed by her son-in-law, Michael N. Tolento, and by her daughter Mary's fianc, Capt. Charles F. Peregrin. Kathleen is also survived by her sisters, Ann Botros, Teresa Arthur and Rose Canavan, to whom she was especially close. She is survived by her twin brother, Robert McAllister and her brother, James McAllister. Her brother John McAllister predeceased her. Kathleen is also survived by many nieces and nephews, both here and in Ireland. Services were private, with arrangements handled by C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
