Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr. Sklenarik.
He was my science teacher for several years at Unatego. Due to his teaching, my understanding of these sciences was solid and helped me greatly when I went on to college and graduate school. I am a scientist now, thanks in part to Mr. Sklenarik.
Thank you Mr. Sklenarik.

I always enjoyed chatting with Bob at Suzi’s Cafe. Most schools only let a teacher win “Teacher of the Year” once. But Unatego didn’t hesitate to allow multiple times to recognize a true professional. He earned that status.
Rest easy, Bob. Yours was a life well lived.

I was truly saddened to lean of Mr. Sklenarik's passing away. He was an important influence in my life and the lives of many others. He helped instill a love of science and curiosity which has been a lifelong joy. I took the opportunity to visit him at the Veteran's Home to thank him in person, after all these years passed. We were fortunate to have him as a teacher at Unatego. My condolences to Sue and the Sklenarik family.

I will always remember how he checked one of my regents exams several times looking for the one point I needed to pass said exam. He encouraged me to continue with my science classes, and not give up. That's the kind of man he was.

Bob is a brother-in-law who will be remembered for his smile, his sense of humor and his creative imagination for solving a problem. There was often a twinkle in his eye when he would make a statement intended to initiate a lively discussion, often at the dinner table. We were lucky to receive one of the many wooden stools he made for family and friends, a kind and generous man. He will be missed. Thinking of Sue and Bob's family.

To Dr. Sklenarik's family, my sincerest sympathies for your loss. Dr. Sklenarik was one of the best teachers that I ever had, and I credit him for my success in chemistry and physics in college. While some were struggling to grasp the concepts, there was nothing new for me, I had already learned it in high school in his classes. To this day I still talk about his chemistry and physics classes and how great of a teacher he was and how well he prepared me for college level courses. I will always be grateful that he was my teacher.

Science was always a bit scary to me. I knew I would never be a brilliant biologist or chemist, but I don't think that mattered to the master teacher, Bob Sklenarik. A little effort from me, produced even more effort from him. He was always encouraging and wanted his students to know they could do more than they believed they could do. He inspired my heart with the gleam in his eye and his quirky sense of humor. He was a treasure back then and as we had opportunities to connect way beyond high school, he remained a positive and powerful light. I feel blessed to have known him and grateful for his kindness and his influence. I know God's arms are wide open as He welcomes this beloved son back home. Thank you, Dr. Sklenarik for all you did for all of us. Sending love to your friends and family.

Sue Murphy Ward This wonderful man has left an impression on so many of us and even tho years have passed, we will remember the Man that he was. In class, he expected diligence, respect, tons of note taking, questions asked or explanations, and would work with anyone that struggled in his class. He often would choose a personal nickname for you and mine was "Miss Muffy". I am privledged to own a signed and personal handed, one of Mr. Sklenarik's step stools. It's a treasure I'll always hold dear. May his memory remain with us always.
