We are deeply saddened at the loss of this bright light in the drum corps family at large. Each of us continues to march for our own personal reasons. For many of us it's about pride, for others family, for some is pagentry, for a few it's music, and still for others they march because the heart knows nothing else.
Now, For the duration of the 2019 season, those reasons have become less of a priority. From this point on we all march in our respective troops for everything that Kelly stood for and in her memory.
Our hearts are heavy as we take to the fields and streets in her memory.
The Upstate Independent Drum and Bugle Corps class of 2019 out of Oneida NY sends love and condolences. We are proud to march in your shadow Kelly......at ease ....at ease.

Kelly was extremely passionate about her physical education classes and offered several times to teach additional classes. She adored all of the students and demonstrated such caring and support towards her students. Every year she put an immense amount of time and effort into an extensive gymnastics unit and Field Day events which made such a huge impact upon the students. She always took the time and effort to say hello , capture many photographic moments, and to show how much she cared about fellow staff and her students. She will be greatly missed and memories of her and all she has accomplished will live on. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her friends, students, and family.

Mrs. Wollner was an amazing gym teacher, she always looked out for us, she helped us with things other teachers would not, I know I'll never forget that she always told us to never give up. My favorite thing about her was her smile and the way she taught us football. She will be greatly missed, till we see you again.

I first met Kelly after a Unatego-Sidney football game (mid-90s) as she and a few other young teachers met for socializing. Dave Keller and I sat (by Invite) with them and it started a long-term friendship. As recently as March, when I got a great Kelly hug, her zest for life was constant.
I wore my “Wolner Strong” band throughout her struggles. No one fought harder nor smiled more than our Kelly. God bless her entire family.

God bless you all in this difficult time. What a lovely obituary. I’ve been following Kelly’s battle and praying for her to beat this. Anna, you are losing not just a wife, but an incredible person. I loved seeing your travels on Facebook and always, happy smiles.
When I lost my son, Christin sent me a gorgeous card with a quote from The Little Prince. It says:
“You, you alone will have the stars
As no one else has them...
In one of the stars I shall be living
In one of them I shall be laughing
And so it will be as all of the stars
Were laughing when you look at
The sky at night...
You - only you
Will have stars that can laugh.”
I still have that card and I read it when I’m sad, mourning. I hope the words can comfort you a little.
