Obituary of Donald C. Baker

Donald C. Baker, aka Buddy of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2019, at Bassett Health Center in Cooperstown with his family by his side. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Amy & Clayton Baker and his son David Baker. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Baker, son & daughter Jason & Casey Baker, grandchildren Hayley and Nevan Baker, Amber & Kody Westcott, and Austin Bauerle, sisters Donna Hulbert, Sandy & Emmet Taylor, nieces and nephews, and many, many close friends. Bud was born and raised in Guilford Center NY where he met the love his life, Barbara. Bud and Barb moved to Oxford to raise their two sons, David and Jason. They moved back to Bainbridge in 1995 where he was able to retire as a carpenter and run the family Christmas tree farm, Sipples. At the wishes of Bud and our family, we will not be having any funeral or services. We will be having a celebration of life at a later date. Please respect the privacy of the family and allow us to grieve in peace at this very difficult time. To know Bud was to love him and everyone knew Bud. He was a legend and he touched many people's lives. We all have a story to share and we invite you to do so when we celebrate his life at a later determined time.
