What a sweet man, full of life and humor. When eating at Senior Meals with my dad the last couple of years, we often sat together. He was always vying with my dad for the first up to clear the table or get something missing from the table. His generous spirit shall be missed!

So sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. My memories go back primarily to those years when he was a member of the Midstatemen Barbershop Chorus in Oneonta. Always a welcoming smile his face and anxious to tell you about his latest trip somewhere to sing. My deepest condolences go out to the family. May he be "up above", crooning an old "Polecat" favorite to Ginny.

The Barnstormers Male Chorus--and we as individual friends--are all very, very
saddened at this time of the passing of Ernie Bartz. Ernie was the always-friendly person who shared himself and his love of music with all of us.
We will never forget our wonderful chats and rides with Ernie! He was so very proud to "share" his granddaughter Emily (and her flute) to accompany the Barnstormers during a concert. We and our organization will always remember our fellow member, Ernie Bartz.

Dear Bartz family - thank you for offering this one of a kind gentleman, friend, and top-notch character to us for so long.
Not once in my interactions with Ernie was there a cross word toward anyone coming from his mouth. Now, that didn’t mean there wasn’t a non-verbal twinkle in his eye now and then - he knew when NOT to speak or bring negativity. Respecting others was his natural gift.
Rest Well, Mr. Bartz. You’ve no doubt earned it.

Sending prayers and love to all. Ernie was an amazing person and I was blessed to have been able to meet him. Ernie was a huge part of my father Jacks childhood. Uncle Jakes Farm was where my father spent many summers after the death of his father. Hearing stories of their childhood and their memories will be something I always hold dear.

To the Bartz family my condolence to the passing of Ernie. He surely earned his wings. It was with pleasure that I was able to take part in the Easter Cantata where he performed his solo. Did well for 91. His smile and delightful way will be missed. Rest in Peace dear Ernie.

Whenever Ernie Bartz would walk into a room there was a renewed sense of joy, optimism and good humor that seemed to accompany him. He had an infectious smile and laugh which were uplifting and thankfully, contagious to all of us.
Those of us that knew something of his heart would quickly recognize the presence of Jesus Christ living in him, whom Ernie loved and served throughout his life.
Ernie was an active man, whose schedule would easily exhaust most of us. Any illness or health concern was a minor inconvenience to be met by a new burst of energy from this greathearted man.
One of my fond memories of him was at a family wedding reception, while the younger participants were involved in very energetic dancing, and the rest of us had judiciously retired to the sidelines to munch on remaining goodies, Ernie was still out on the dance floor, checking out the moves, and deciding whether he should join or at least adapt his moves to remain part of the action.
I was also present on the occasion of him purchasing a new (to him) car. He quietly whispered to me he thought it was a great car at a very good price. Then I heard him walk into the salesman’s office and loudly proclaim, ‘ I don’t like the car, and I don’t like the price!” One will never know what transpired behind closed doors, but a short time later Ernie drove off with his new car.
God’s Word says, Our eyes haven’t seen, our ears have not heard, neither has it entered into our hearts, the things that God has prepared for them that love Him.
So for Ernie, this life was the pre-game show, He now enjoys the real thing.
We thank our God on every remembrance of him.
God bless you.

I have known Ernie for about 78 years. He helped me on and off the school bus for the first few years of school because I was too short to get up and down the step. I also attended the Sidney Center Methodist Church with him and so enjoyed hearing him sing. His music was from the heart. I know that he is now with his "Ginny" and his Lord. My deepest sympathy to all of his family & friends, organizations & communities. he participated in where he will be greatly missed. May God bless each and everyone with His comforting peace.

You know when you have been touched by a genuinely kind person. Ernie loved life and it showed in all he did and participated in. He was fun to sing with in the Davenport Community Choir and we were always happy to see him at monthly dinners. His smile, laughter and hugs will remain in our hearts. God bless Ernie and family.
