Clifford L. Saunders
AFTON—Clifford L. Saunders passed away on Tuesday morning, July 15, 2019 at the Norwich Rehab & Nursing Center on his 80th birthday. He was born July 15, 1939 in Sanford, son of Edward and Pansey (Thompson) Saunders.
On April 12, 1975, he was married to Sherley Mulwane in the Afton United Methodist Church.
He retired from the Office of General Service in Binghamton, and later worked for Price Chopper in Sidney. Everyone knew Cliff.
He enjoyed taking walks and walking his dog, Buddy. He liked to read, particularly westerns.
He is survived by: his wife, Sherley J. Saunders of Afton; 3 sons: Michael of Norwich, Matt of Afton and Roy and his wife, Heather of Afton; his sister, Helen of Endicott, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 19th at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton.
