Paula and family, So very sorry to see Rusty has left us. We had so many laughs, and good times working together at Spence Milk Co. and beyond. You could always count on Rusty to lend a hand if you needed help, he was a genuinely good person. Unfortunately I haven't seen Rusty in years, but I thought of him often as I remembered the good old days, the world was a better place when he was here, he will be greatly missed.

I just found Rusty's obituary on the Landers website and wanted to send my condolences to all of you. I have so many happy memories of Rusty from our days in the Youth Choir at Sidney UMC. He was always so much fun and such a great guy. I will keep all of you in my prayers. God bless.

I am so very sad to hear that Rusty has passed. When I was growing up, on lower River Street, Rusty rode my school bus. The term "Gentle Giant" is so appropriate for him. Although he was large in stature, he was as gentle as a lamb. I loved to visit with him, usually about Village of Sidney issues, knowing that he would eventually break out in a big old Rusty chuckle. I pray that God will comfort his family, in the days and weeks ahead, living your lives in a new normal without this special man. Rest in peace, Rusty.

The sadness of Rusty’s passing can be eased by knowing he was a rare “do-gooder” throughout his life. Rather quiet, he had a way of getting you to smile or laugh at the simplest things.
