Otego, NY
Angelia J. Loucks, 57, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was born on August 13, 1961 in Sidney, daughter of the late Raymond and Madeline (French) Jackson.
Angie graduated from Franklin Central School and attended SUCO. She worked as a Medical Office Assistant for Oneonta Surgical Associates for many years where her co-workers were like family. She was married to Gerald Loucks in 1996.
Together with her husband, Angie was a member of the Mohawk Valley American Poolplayers Association and a 3 time Champion, winning Doubles in 2014 with Jerry, and the Team Championship in 2016 and going on to compete in Las Vegas.
She was a talented baker and was well known for her beautiful cakes for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. She also enjoyed crafting and was talented at making wreaths, dolls and centerpieces.
Angelia will be missed by: her husband, Gerald Loucks of Otego; son, Daniel Ross Carey of Oneonta; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Ann and Joshua Banks of Otego; her dog, Bandit and fur grandbabies, Pebbles and BamBam; sister, Ann Jackson Carman and her husband, Kurt of Otego, nephew, Brian Todd Carman of Otego; special aunt and uncle and godparents, Donna and Chet French of Unadilla; nephew, Mike French and his children, Tyler and Kamryn, all of Unadilla; as well as several cousins and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and will be officiated by Rev. Judith A. Thistle, Pastor of Worcester's Second Baptist Church and Chaplain at A.O. Fox Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be directed to Friends of Bassett and mailed to Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, 1 Atwell Road Cooperstown, NY 13326 for their oncology department or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
