Obituary of Alan D. Greco

Alan D. Greco Bainbridge—Alan D. Greco, 84, passed away on April 24, 2019 at Chestnut Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Oneonta. He was born on March 5, 1935 in Summit, NJ, son of the late Herman and Mildred (Ellicks) Greco. He married Ruth DeForest on October 5, 1985 in Sidney. Al was a social guy who loved to talk, making friends wherever he went. He retired from Mead Westvaco in 2004 and kept busy with many projects around the house. During retirement, Al enjoyed being with family, gardening, watching NASCAR, and evening coffee with "the guys". He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Greco of Bainbridge; children: Joyce (Rick) Moore of Oxford, Tammy (Jeff) Russell of Oxford, Shawn (Kathy) DeForest of Bainbridge and David (Christine) DeForest of Skaneateles, NY; grandchildren: Trevor, Jeremy and Teresa Moore, Kyla, Brock, Brendan and Tyler DeForest; and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Millie Grogan in 2017. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 29th at the funeral chapel, with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the Bainbridge Fire Department.
