Obituary of Douglas W. Lee

Douglas W. Lee, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on March 19, 2019. He was born April 3, 1934, son of Harold and Agnes Lee. He was raised to be a hardworking farmer, and then proudly served in the Navy Construction Battalion and Sea Bees. After his time in the service, he took over the family farm in West Bainbridge. He swept Grace (Puerile) off her feet and married her on September 30, 1960 in Bainbridge. He was known by all to be an avid hunter, marksman and fisherman. He always had a joke to tell and enjoyed a good cup of coffee.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace. He is also survived by his children: Kathy (Jim) Lord, Keith (Naomi) Lee, Annie (Sean) Henry and John (Carin) Lee; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his sisters-in-law, Betty Lee and Freda Puerile. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Agnes; his brother, Dick Lee, and his brother-in-law, Pat Puerile. Special thanks go to our friend Kelli Cirigliano, who provided such great care to Doug and Grace in his final months.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 22nd at the funeral chapel.
