Obituary of Julia H. Gloeckler

Julia H. Gloeckler Binghamton, NY Julia H. Gloeckler, 98 of Binghamton and a former resident of Sidney, passed away Saturday morning, April 10, 2010 at Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton. Julia was born on May 26, 1911, daughter of the late Samuel and Susanna (Knapp) Hall in Franklin, NY. On December 21, 1935, Julia married James E. Gloeckler in Unadilla. He predeceased her on June 3, 1989. Julia was a loving mother and grandmother, and a devout Christian. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Sidney. Julia is survived by: Her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Alcott 5 Grandchildren: Lisa Alcott Cynthia Cooper and husband, Robert Christine Slish and husband, David Mikki Weeden Peter Baciuska and wife, Teri 7 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Matthew Cooper, Joshua Slish, Ronald Weeden, Elizabeth Weeden and Edward and Hunter Baciuska As well as several nieces and nephews In addition to her husband, Julia was predeceased by her son, Edward J. Gloeckler on March 4, 2002, and four sisters: Fannie Delameter, Ellen Nichols, Dorothy Hall and Emma O'Donoghue. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Barbara Green, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Sidney, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Julia's name may be directed to the United Methodist Church of Sidney, 12 Liberty St. Sidney, NY 13838.
