Dear Scott, Joanne and Family,
I was so saddened to hear of your Mother's passing. Your loving and selfless dedication and attention to your mom, especially over the recent years, was more than exceptional. I taught across the hall from Juel for many years. She was always cheerful and a champion of the students. When I think of Juel, I think of the wonderful group of people teaching in Sidney during the 70s and 80s.

I have delivered mail to Juel for 30 plus years, she and Doug were always great to visit with! I especially enjoyed her flowers and our discussions on where to get the best bulbs.Oh, and those beautiful golden retrievers, the best greeters there were. My best to her family.

Roger and I were so sorry to read that your mom had passed. Your parents were such wonderful neighbors for many years when we lived across the road from them. Your Mom was such a sweet person and I enjoyed our many talks over the years at the mailboxes. Our condolences on your loss.

My time as a Sidney student was doubly blessed regarding Juel. First, she was my fifth grade English teacher, with my best memory being writing our own skits for the environment (I made her laugh with my impression of an elephant with a thorn in my foot). Later, she was a high school English teacher for our class. While I never had her in class there, we remained friendly.
I extend my sympathies to the Luscomb & Smith families. Scott- your mom was a treasure.

Dear family members:
I was a colleague of Juel’s at the beginning of my career at Sidney High School. She taught me so much about professionalism, morals and ethics I used my entire tenure. I think of her with such fondness and Heaven is an angel richer today. She will be missed greatly.
