William (Bill) Shields
Greene—William (Bill) Shields, DOD 11/29/2018
Well, she finally did it, stole my sweet William from me. As I watched his chest rise and fall so did my heart. I hate her, her name is CANCER!
Robbed our children of their DAD and grands and greats of their Poppy-she was so cruel to do this!
Born 9/3/1941
He was so proud of many things-his family, his service in the Marine Corps, his cabin or "shack" as he called it, keeping his lawn groomed to perfection, his career at Raymond Corp. which provided a comfortable life for us, his famous barbecued chicken, his camp on the hill, hunting with his wifey, who was his eyes.
Loved his daily scratch offs- win or lose, and his "metropolitan" ice cream.
Predeceased by infant son, Hud William, and sisters, Pat and JoEllen.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Rufus; loving children: son, Chad (Lisa), caregivers, daughter, Jennifer (Dennis), his nurse/caregiver who gave him so much comfort; 7 grandkids, 2 adorable great-grandsons, and of course, his lab of 16 years, Marley; sisters, Judy and Janice; brother, Kevin; best buddies: Fred, Barry, Tom, Don and CeCe.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Readling and staff, and hospice for their kindness, help and support.
