Obituary of Alfred W. Gilbertsen

Alfred W. Gilbertsen Sidney, NY Alfred "Gilly" Gilbertsen 82, of Sidney passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. He was born July 15, 1936, son of the late Alfred and Viola (Walsh) Gilbertsen in Brooklyn, NY Al served his country in the United States Army from 1960-1966. In 1965 He married Lillian O'Hara in the Rockdale Church in Guilford. Al worked as a machinist for E.C.D of Bendix in Sidney when he retired in 1999, He was a charter member of the Sidney Elks Lodge #2175 and a member of the Sidney American Legion. Al is survived by his loving wife, Lillian, As well as 4 sons, Alfred (Lisa) of Marianna, FL David (Bridget), Syracuse, Roy (Kathy), Bartow, FL and Eric (Niki) Lakeland, FL 10 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Brothers: Robert, Roy, George, Jerry, William, Walter and Edward And several nieces, nephews and cousins He was also predeceased by brother, Thomas and sister, Jeanette Scutt Services are private. Burial with military honors will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.
