Obituary of Mark A. Hampton
Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mark Allan Hampton, with positive spirit and immense tenacity throughout, finally lost his courageous battle with cancer on November 5, 2018 at the age of 58.
Born September 11, 1960 in New York City, he attended elementary school in the Bronx, NYC, and graduated from Valley Stream High School, Valley Stream, NY, then attended Nassau Community College for a short while. He was a member of University Heights Presbyterian Church in the Bronx.
He was predeceased by his father, Wade Hampton, his stepfather, Joseph Renton, his grandparents: Anthony Zammit Ficmbam, Ada Violet Hampton Ficmbam, Joseph Peter Sopagee, Evelyn Sopagee and his uncle, Peter Dixon Sopagee and aunt, Arlene Mae Munson. He is survived by his mother, Rev. Dr. Barbara A. Renton, and his brothers and sisters: Debra Hampton, Dorothy (Richard) Boulton, James (Michele) Hampton, Catalin Brandas, his half brother, Jonathan Hampton, and his uncle, Morris "Ty" Davis; also two cousins, Janet (David) Couture and Joseph (Stephanie) Munson, as well as four nephews: Sean Walder, Matthew Boulton, Charles Boulton, and James Varanese.
Mark worked in various capacities: shipping manager, security systems, and the hospitality business. Most recently he worked as a caregiver for adults before coming to live with his family in Bainbridge, NY, where he enjoyed managing the Renton household shopping, menu planning and cooking.
He loved his cat, video games, Scooby Doo TV reruns, roller coasters, trying out new dishes to make, and bowling. He was the man you could count on in any emergency. Mark kept his sense of humor and his enjoyment of life to the end. We are grateful for his life and thankful to the caring staff at Wilson Hospital.
His wish was to be cremated. Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00-noon at the First Presbyterian Church, Bainbridge, NY. Share condolences and memories online at www.landersfh.com.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
