Obituary of Catherine V. Hemmer

Catherine V. Hemmer Unadilla, NY Catherine Virginia Hemmer, 82, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Chestnut Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Oneonta. She was born on July 2, 1936 in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Peter and Constance Castrian. On January 6, 1962, she was married to Valentine J. Hemmer, III in Astoria; they then moved to the Tri-Town area to raise their family. They shared 29 years of marriage before he predeceased her on March 11, 1991. Catherine enjoyed volunteering, and was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church, Sidney. She is survived by: four children: Christopher J. Hemmer of Florida, Constance MacDonald and her husband, David of Nevada, Valentine J. Hemmer, IV and his wife, Lucille of Illinois, and Peter A. Hemmer of Unadilla; grandchildren: Wessen, Sarah, Chase, Laurel and Nathan; and a great-granddaughter, Nora. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Morgan. Friends may call from 4:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 25th at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney. Burial will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
