Obituary of Ann L. Fernandez

Ann Louise Fernandez Bainbridge – Ann Louise Fernandez, 83, of Bainbridge, NY, passed away on Monday, June 25th, 2018 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on September 22nd, 1934, in Bridgeport, CT. She was a 1952 graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport. Ann worked as a secretary at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, where she met her future husband, John, on a blind date. They were inseparable after that day and were married on September 28th, 1957. In 1968, they moved to NY State. Ann enjoyed living in the country and making her family's favorite recipes: spaghetti sauce, meatballs, eggplant, fried dough, chicken noodle soup, pan-friend potatoes, and Italian Anginette cookies. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family and friends, whether it be a game of dice, playing cards, doing "scratch outs", or a BBQ. Ann is survived by her children and their spouses, Guy Fernandez of Endicott, NY, Sharon & Joe Farrow of Earlville, NY, Robin & Brad Kozak of Greene, NY, and Juliette Cimini of Binghamton, NY. Ann is grandmother to Holly & Mike Doroshenko of Spring Brook, PA, Beth & Jeff Gladwish of London, Ontario, Canada, Zachary Goodier of Oneida, NY, Troy Goodier and Ewen Wedell of Las Vegas, NV, and Devin Fernandez of Burlington, VT. Ann is also great-grandmother to Greyson & Joanna Gladwish and Griffin & Cameron Doroshenko. Ann is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Speciale of Seymour, CT, Shirley Kaufman of Bainbridge, NY, her brother Anthony Sabre of Charlotte, NC, many nieces and nephews and close friends. Ann is predeceased by her husband, John Fernandez, her mother, Annette Sabre, three children, John, Lisa and Jerry and her brothers, Joseph Sabre and Ronald Sabre. Although we will miss our most precious and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, we take comfort in knowing that she is now in heaven with our most Blessed Lord Jesus and Blessed Mother. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, June 28th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at C.H. Landers in Sidney, NY and a funeral service mass at 11am at St. John's Catholic Church in Bainbridge, NY on Friday, June 29th, with a burial service to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge, NY.
