When I worked at the Sidney Rite Aid around 5 years ago, Vern was my favorite customer. I loved talking to him whenever he came into the store- he was always in good spirits and was very sweet. I’m very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his loved ones.

I know that you don't know me but Vern was 2 month younger than me and his Dad and my Dad were best friends. My father was Ira Betts and we lived in the house on Rt 7 when I was born and my Dad later sold it to Vern's parents. I have lived in FL since 1960 but a few years ago when I was up there in the summer, I had a little visit with Vern and Rose in Trackside. Vern and the whole family were wonderful friends and I know he will be greatly missed. God bless, Phyllis (Betts) Place

dear pat ed dan and andy i was always proud to say vern was my uncle i can remember the picnics we used to have and we played crocket or badmitin he would always join in.and laugh all the time. vern and i would go down to the diner to have supper and he would always tell me how proud he was of his boys .he would say i cant believe how much dan could do he said he can do anything somebody needs done as for andy he always would say how great andy was with his capentry and how ed had great patience at his job vern would call me when he did something with his car or truck and bring it over to show me or give me a ride in a car or truck he just bought he was a great uncle vern showed me that money is not everything its happiness that counts i wll sure miss him but i will never forget him in my heart he now in heaven sitting down with gram betty ma granpa deforest and grandpa castle also joe talking about all the great times well good buy for now but i knoiw we will be togather again someday oxoxox love Ron

I'm so sadden to learn of Vern's passing. I slip seated a truck with Vern when I worked at Mirabito's. He was a real pleasure to work with. He taught me many tricks of the trade so to speak.My heartfelt prayers go out to all his friends & family.

I think Vern and I started at about the same time working at Mirabito’s. Vern was a true professional driver. His truck was always neat, clean and well maintained and a source of pride to him. We always tried to give him the best eqpt because he cared for it like it was his own. Vern had pride in all that he did and I was proud to work with him. He was the best. Rest In Peace my friend.
