To the Family of Gerry Walker,
my heart goes out to all of you iincluding your extended families. I knew Gerry when I was growing up on Adams St. He was a few years older than I but I still remember him. It was nice to see him at all the alumni luncheons in the past and some of the other members of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

When I think of Uncle Gerald, I remember a patient Sunday school teacher who taught youth at a very vulnerable time in their lives. I also remember that he would always congratulate me when I made the honor roll, or achieved something in my life that he was happy about. Among the most memorable experiences, were the Sunday afternoon visits to the Gerald Walker household to visit. Because these experiences were before e-mail or cell phones, one of us children would go to the door and ask if Aunt Betty and Uncle Gerald would like to have company. There was always a resounding cheer in our car, when the answer was "yes". And, it was Uncle Gerald who introduced me to the term "chief cook and bottle washer". He said it one day, and told me that it was something that his dad used to say. That was followed up by a conversation between Cheryl and I, where we talked about the little things that our dads said, that Grandpa Walker had also said, (many of them very Irish in nature). Now my dad has a brother in heaven with him, and they are together in glory. Uncle Gerald will not be forgotten, nor will any of his family members.

I have always had very fond memories of the good times that my brother, sisters, and I had playing at Uncle Jerry and Aunt Betty's home. Uncle Jerry was such a very sweet man. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Betty, my cousins and their families, and with Uncle Jerry's brother Bill, sister Colleen, and their families. Uncle Jerry will be missed but his memory will be cherished by those who love him.
