Obituary of Shirley A. Goodison

Shirley A. Goodison Binghamton—Shirley A. Goodison, 82, formerly of Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was born on August 1, 1935 in Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter of the late Clifford and Neoma (Johnson) Young. Shirley worked very hard to support her seven children. For many years, she worked as a secretary for Singer Link in Binghamton. After moving back from Florida, she worked at Mirabito Energy Products until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, being with her family and the outdoors. She will be missed by: her sister, Mary and Tom Harris; seven children: Linda and Dan Johnson, James Goodison, Teresa Wolf, Michael and Susan Goodison, Cheryl and John Mirabito, William Goodison and Suzanne and Mark DeAugustino; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son-in-law, Randy Wolf. Friends are invited to call from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, October 20, 2017 and from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 21st at the funeral chapel with Rev. Ernie Steffensen officiating. Burial in Windsor Village Cemetery will be private. The family wishes to thank Willow Point Nursing Home, especially the staff of West Wing and South 3, for their compassion and care.
