Obituary of John Martin Von Kampen

John M. Von Kampen, East Guilford, NY John M. Von Kampen 91 of East Guilford passed away peacefully Friday, July 28, 2017 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Facility in Oneonta. He was born June 20, 1926 son of the late Herman G. and Gladys (Zoerb) Von Kampen in New York City. John married Helen Robinson on February 4, 1950, they we happily married for 53 years when she predeceased him on February 4, 2003. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1954 as an Aerographer's Mate Third Class when he was honorably discharged. Mr. Von was a longtime and dedicated service manager for James Mirabito & Sons in Sidney when he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church, the Mt. Upton American Legion Post #1143, and past board member of the Godfrey Cemetery in Guilford. John is survived by a brother and many friends. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney Graveside services with military honors will be held Monday, August 7, at 2:00 PM in Godfrey Cemetery in Guilford.
