Obituary of Sheila Mary Francesconi

Sheila Mary Davis Francesconi Otego, NY Sheila Mary Davis Francesconi, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 18, 2017. Sheila was born April 8, 1936 in Canton, NY to Charles and Ethelyn Davis. She graduated from Canton High School in 1954, and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown as a Registered Nurse in 1957. She held various roles as an RN over forty-five years. She married Louis S. Francesconi on June 13, 1959 in Rochester, New York at Blessed Sacrament Church. She is survived by: her husband; her four children: Stephen (Judith) of Crofton, MD, Jane (Michael) Graci of Newark, DE, Laura Ray of Palm Harbor, FL, and Mary Graikoski of Simsbury, CT; her brothers, Robert of Colton, NY and Bruce of Rathdrum, ID, and sister Linda of Ft. Collins, CO. She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Terry Davis; sister, Martha Wetzel; and granddaughter, Martha Francesconi. She was a woman of many talents: an avid gardener, a blue ribbon winning quilter, and an artist of oil and water color paints. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, crocheting, and knitting. She traveled the world with her family, living in Singapore for three years, and visiting Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, India, Egypt, Kenya and multiple European destinations. Although she was at home internationally, she always returned to Upstate New York where she grew up, raised a family and enjoyed retirement. Calling hours will be from 3:00-5:00pm on Monday, May 22, 2017 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney, New York. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 23rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney. Graveside services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton, NY will follow at 3:00pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
