I worked with Sam with Victory Mkts.- I as Mgr in New Berlin, when we had the opportunity to work together on resets, etc. we always had a good time and yet accomplished a lot.
Sam was a good man and I know will be missed greatly, not once when we met would he not speak in his amiable style, "Well Hello there Bob Smith". I must say the world was a much better place with Sam in it.
Please know as a family we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Sam DiNoto. Wow! I worked for Sam at the Victory Market in our "much younger" days. On the first day he gave me the "Do It Now!" pin which has stayed with me all my life. A lot of us local kids grew up under the guidance of Sam and when I talk to my friends about those times, it always bring us a smile. A couple years ago I went back to Bainbridge and knocked Sam's door to thank him for the guidance. We talked old times and he showed me his bird houses and other things keeping him busy in retirement. Such a good man, such a good person. You are loved and you are deeply missed, Sam DiNoto!

Sam was a great guy. One of the people I always liked to see, though I didn't see much of him in recent years. I used to work for Victory/Great American years ago and got to know him a little there, but he was kind of like family also, being married to my Aunt Cee’s cousin if I have my facts straight. I believe Sam was fishing buddies with Tony Zieno, another guy I always enjoyed talking to who has also passed away. Sam was one of the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet. Condolences to Sam’s family. He will be missed by many.

I feel so blessed that my sisters and I were able to spend some time with Sam, Carolyn, Sandy and Denise for one wonderful afternoon last summer. The Hinkley family sends its most sincere condolences to the Dinoto family. We know that there were many wonderful family and friends there to greet Sam in heaven.

I am very saddened to her of you fathers passing. I have fond memories of shopping at the Victory Market with my grandmother on Saturday morning, and seeing Sam busy working in his small office. Occasionally he would even come out when help was scarce and tell my grandmother to go and get the car, and he loaded the groceries himself. A pillar of the community and he is sorely missed. Keep his memories aive by the live you live.

My earliest memory of Mr. DiNoto was that my mom, who had two small children at home, would send me to the then Victory Store, along with a short list and the money for what she needed. Mr. Dinoto would meet me, help me find the items, get me checked out and send me back to my mom. I was not more than seven years old. Mr. DiNoto was always a kind and patient man. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to the DiNoto family and that large family tree. You can't think of the Canoe Regatta or the Laing Family Bluegrass festival without thinking of the chicken BBQ "a la Sam DiNoto".
Here's an offbeat memory to share: After he retired from the grocery business, Sam wound up selling cars at the Noyes Ford in Sidney. One day, while broadcasting there live for a WCDO remote, I conjured Sam into an impromptu interview. He took to it like a pro and even called himself, "the new kid on the block" at Noyes. We had a great laugh over that.
Rest easy, Sam. Your work on Earth is done and it was done well.

Sam was a great Man. He was kind and treated everyone in a way that that made one feel they mattered. My brother Chris worked for Sam years ago at the Victory/Great American. He still tell about the ethics about work and life he learned from Sam, It was probably about 4-5 years ago when we were walking around town up to Bakers when we saw Sam outside of his home. (Chris was in from Seattle Washington for a short visit due to work nearby) He finally was able to tell Sam how much he appreciated working for him and all the things he learned from him along the way. Sam had set a standard for him and I would think many others that worked and traveled on their way through life after working at the Store in Bainbridge. Sam was a pillar of the Village to most that knew him.. He will surely be missed.. My prayers and thoughts go out for the family and his Lovely Wife.. Bless you all!!

I remember going to the Victory shopping with Mom. Sam would always ask when I would be old enough to work. I did go to work at the Day & Night when Sam recruited me to work for him. Years and years later, I recall the day Sam went to work for Mead (Keith Clark). He reported to my desk for his first day of work. He sure was in shock to see it was me. We had a good laugh over it. What a great man! Sure will be missed by many. I will keep you ALL in my thoughts and prayers as you move forward in celebrating Sams life. ((Hugs))
