Obituary of Christopher F. Galbraith

Christopher F. Galbraith, Jr. Bainbridge, NY Christopher "Buddy" F. Galbraith, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Christopher was born on July 4, 1931 in New York, NY, son of the late Christopher, Sr. and Catherine (Antz) Galbraith. He enlisted in the US Army in May 1951 and served until his honorable discharge in May 1953 at the rank of Corporal. He retired as the Foreman of the NYC Sanitation Department in Queens, NY. In 1980, he was married to Carole Heath in Patchogue, Long Island. They later moved to the Tri-Town area. He drove bus for the GMU School District for 10 years. He attended Sacred Heart Church in Sidney and was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge. Buddy is survived by his wife, Carole Galbraith of Bainbridge; Children – Christopher and Lynn Galbraith, Patricia and Andy Mollo, Jean and Steve Brooks and Helen Galbraith stepchildren: Austin and Marsha Mood of Roanoke, VA; Kevin Mood of Yaphank, Long Island; Lori Parsons of Bainbridge and Kristine Pratt of Bainbridge; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Arthur, and a sister, Virginia Steiger. Friends are invited to call from 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, November 28th at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney. Burial will take place in Long Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association.
