Obituary of Suzanne R. Whalen

Suzanne R. Whalen Unadilla, NY On September 30, 2016 the angels wrapped their wings around Sue and reunited her with her mother, Sally Hills. She was surrounded by the loves of her life, her best friend and husband Phil Holowacz and her loving children, Asa and Samantha Whalen, when she was called home. Asa and Sam were her whole life and the reason for her existence. She is also survived by her father, Karl Hills, Sister, Kara (Bill) Bristow, brother, Mark (Jennifer) Hills, stepdaughter, Melissa (Justin) Rowe several nieces, nephews and a grandson. Sue graduated from Owego Free Academy and received her Bachelor's of Science from Albany Collage of Pharmacy. As a pharmacist for the past 25 years she touched so many lives as only Sue could. She was involved in many things and with many people; it would be difficult to name them all. Her latest passions were NYS Relay for Life and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. We are so happy Sue was able to spend a lot of time this past summer in her "happy place" with her loved ones on Upper Rideau Lake in Canada. Her life was spent caring for everyone, loving life and just giving so much of herself. Her infectious smile will last in our hearts forever. The imprint that she left in everyone's heart should be carried forward by all of us that knew her. The family is honoring Sue's request and invite family and friends to a celebration of life on Saturday, October 8, 2016, her 52nd birthday, at the Vestal Elks Lodge, 2071 Vestal Parkway West Vestal, NY 13850 The celebration will begin at 1:30 PM with a short Elks Lodge of Sorrow service.
